Swanee River sign record deal with Rocksector Records!
Yes folks, this month we are proud to announce that we have signed with independant label Rocksector. Its gonna be a busy year for Swanee and we are going to be getting about quite a bit!
Mark Appleton of Rocksector Records has this to say "We're very happy indeed to be working with Swanee River. They've done some great things by themselves, self-releasing their music & playing some excellent supports, plus an amazing trip to India. However, it's an ambitious band & I'm delighted the guys approached us to help them develop further & if you listen to the debut album it wets the appetite incredibly for the fantastic prospects of the forthcoming follow-up. The timing of this couldn't be better both in terms of the band's current standing & the general resurgence of interest in bluesy rock where this band has something really special to offer"
In other news, we have recorded a video with John Carlin from Cause a Scene Films for the song Bouncy Castles...it will be released next weekend!! Its looking amazin!

So 2012 is well underway and we have a stack of gigs lined up for the new year. They will be announced soon.

We will be shooting a video in the next few weeks for one of the songs on the album so keep a look out for that...
Most things 2012 are in planning at the minute so some important announcements will be ready in a short while!

Swanee checking out of the airport with a huge ulster fry!
So we have done The Answer tour, travelled to India and we're back on the saddle and back to gigging!
We have a few Xmas shows planned - check out the gig page. Though next on the agenda is The Pavillion SONI Rocks, Belfast next Sat 19th November. It should be a great show though get down early as its our first Belfast show in months and sure to be rammed!
Smoking Jacket is now on I-Tunes/Amazon/Napster world wide for all you people who have been enquiring

Hi Folks,
So we have a snippet of the album featuring in Classic Rock Magazine's Covermount CD with the may issue onsale now. Classic Rock magazine is the biggest selling rock magazine in the UK and in our opinion - the best! The song is Flowers Powers - Get out and buy it!
The album is nearly finished, just another 2 weeks and is sounding just class! Preorders will be available on this site from Mon 25th April and you will have the option of securing an album with your ticket for the Derry Gweedor gig. Tickets online soon so keep checking www.swaneeriver.net

So folks,
The last few months has saw the band be very busy indeed. Releasing Smoking Jacket, headlining our first N.Irish Festival, writing and recording the sound track for Irish Film Board Film 'The Birth of Rock', recording live sessions for the BBC and Drive 105 and others, being featured in Classic Rock magazine Covermount CD and playing a host of headline shows to launch the album!
You will now understand why its been a while...
The lastest to add to this is that we have just confirmed we will be headlining India's largest college rock Festival - Synchronicity! This will be in October and we will be headlining to 16,000, yes, believe it!!
We have also booked a stack of NI festivals including Glasgowbury (23rd July), Tanglewood (6th August), Gasyard Feile (13th August) and on the 20th August we will be playing 3 festivals in the one day!! yes thats right - 1st stop is Pigeon Field Music and Film Festival Ballymoney, then we are off to Stendhal, Limavady, then flying to Hillsborough to play Sunflower Fest! Its going to be a hectic day and we are going to film the lot for you!
There have also been a few headling shows added in for July, so be sure to check the gigs page!
We have now sold out of our first run of Smoking Jacket, though dont worry, another is due any day now! We are also printing a load of T-shirts for the up comming festivals...oh yeah!

Hello people! We have more exciting news to announce! So we by now you probably know that we will be main support on all 7 dates of The Answer Irish tour in Sept/Oct? if you didnt, then check out our gigs page for more details....! We are delighted at this, and also on a plus note, we will get to see the Answer every night for free ;) nice

India beckons! India is getting closer and we have got all our jags etc sorted, theres a few sore arses in the band camp! In the pipeline we also have a full Indian tour developing for the new year...bring it on!

So we have confirmed some dates for our album launch tour seen on the right and on the shows page. The tour is incomplete at the minute as we are waiting on a few venues to confirm. That should all be sorted very soon. We will also be confirming 5 dates in the UK for June/July time and a 14 date europen tour in the autumn
The album is nearly finished and will be released on hard copy on 07/05/2011. Details of how to preorder will be on the site soon. The album is sounding massive at the minute and you will be able to hear just how massive on the 30th March 2011 as we have a song featured on Classic Rock magazine Covermount CD. The Song is 'Flowers Powers'. we are delighted to announce this as in our opinion Classic rock magazine is the best rock magazine on the planet!
We are also shooting a video very soon to promote the album so keep your eyes open for that on the website

Hi Folks,
Hope you all had a great xmas and a very happy new year :)
2011 is now upon us and the Swanee wheels and cogs are already in full swing. We have been very quiet in 2010 as we have been working mostly on our debut album and have finally started the recording process. Recording is almost finished actually and Swanee River are nearly ready to start announcing official tour dates.
As we embark on another year of rock and roll we would like to say an extra special thankyou to all of you who have supported the band, comming to gigs, buying our music, uploading videos, photos, facebook/myspace/forum comments, we love ya's all and are in debt eternally.
We have added a video beside the rock and roll circus news from the 'rock and roll circus', hope u like it!!!
Hope 2011 is another great rockin year for you all and Swanee River will be there with a brand new album to warm yer cockles so bottoms up, heres to 2011, the year of the Swanee!

The band have just booked 4 days in the studio in December for the beginnings of the debut album.
The album will hopefully surface fully finished in late Feburary 2011 complete with a launch tour.
